Terms of Service

1. Service Description

Gabriel Marchesan Almeida, Wiener Str. 37, 76344 Eggenstein-Leopoldshafen, Germany provides an AI-powered service to help users understand German official correspondence. The service analyzes uploaded letter content and provides plain-language explanations, action checklists, and summaries.

2. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to use BriefBot.
  • By using the service you confirm that you have the right to submit the documents you upload.
  • Business use is permitted on all paid plans.

3. Acceptable Use

  • You may only submit documents you have a legal right to access.
  • Do not submit documents containing third-party sensitive personal data without authorization.
  • Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or its AI models.
  • Do not use the service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Automated bulk submission without a commercial agreement is prohibited.

4. Subscription Plans and Pricing

BriefBot offers Free, Pro, and Platinum plans for individual users. Business plans for organizations may be offered separately. Pricing is displayed on the Pricing page. . Pursuant to §19 UStG, no VAT is charged (Kleinunternehmerregelung). All prices are final prices.

Paid subscriptions are managed via Stripe and billed by credit or debit card. You can cancel at any time from your account settings page or the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

5. Right of Withdrawal

Consumer subscribers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of subscription. Full details are in our Right of Withdrawal page. Right of Withdrawal.

Note: If you begin using the service (i.e., submit a letter for analysis) within the 14-day period with your explicit consent, you acknowledge that immediate service delivery commences and that your right of withdrawal expires for that specific digital service delivery.

6. Refunds

  • Refunds are processed through Stripe. Contact support at contact@brief-bot.app within 14 days of purchase.
  • For subscription cancellations, use the account settings page or Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • Refund requests are handled by BriefBot via our payment provider Stripe. Please contact us at contact@brief-bot.app within 14 days of purchase to request a refund.
  • EU/EEA consumers retain statutory rights under applicable consumer protection law. The 14-day withdrawal right under §312g BGB applies, but is waived if the service has begun with your explicit consent before the period expires (see Right of Withdrawal page).

7. Data and Privacy

Your use of BriefBot is governed by our Privacy Policy. Letter content is processed exclusively by Mistral AI (EU-hosted in France, GDPR Art. 28 DPA). Mistral does not use your data for model training. Analysis results are stored for 90 days before automatic deletion.

8. Liability Limitation

BriefBot is provided "as is". We make no warranties about the accuracy of AI-generated content. To the extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the subscription fees paid in the 3 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or punitive damages.

Mandatory consumer rights under applicable law (including German consumer protection law) are not affected by this limitation.

9. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Planned maintenance will be announced in advance. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with at least 30 days' notice.

10. Account Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time from Account > Privacy. Upon termination, your data is anonymized per our Privacy Policy.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms. For material changes, we will provide at least 14 days' notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by German law (Deutsches Recht). The UN Convention on the International Sale of Goods (CISG) does not apply. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.

For consumers in the EU: you may always invoke the mandatory consumer protection laws of your EU member state of residence.

14. Severability

If any provision of these terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force. The invalid provision will be replaced by an enforceable provision that most closely reflects the original intent.

16. Behavioural Analytics

By registering, you consent to BriefBot collecting anonymised behavioural analytics data about your use of the service. This data helps us understand which features are used, how long users engage with the app, and where improvements can be made.

Analytics collection is enabled by default at registration and is disclosed in our Privacy Policy. The data is first-party only, stored securely, and never sold or shared with third parties. Raw event data is deleted after 90 days.

You may opt out of behavioural analytics at any time under Account → Privacy → Advanced Analytics. When disabled, no new events will be recorded.
